I haven't posted in awhile, mainly due to the fact that I have a 2 1/2 year old son who occupies most of my time. I wanted to document the fact that I am now officially 80 pounds lighter than I was a year ago. I am so proud of accomplishing this and couldn't have done it without the support of my husband and family. I feel like a new woman and a better Mom. I am so happy with my body inside and out. I am now trying to focus on exercising and getting toned. You never know, a bikini might be on the agenda before the end of the summer...woo hoo!
On another note, I took my son to the park the other afternoon and ran into a family friend. She and a group from church were meeting for a weekly gathering and invited us to eat with them. They are members of a newer church that I had never heard of. It really sounds like something my husband and I would like and a place that would be fun for our son as well (a lot of children's activities). They invited us to a block party next weekend and I'm pretty sure we're going to go. They'll have blow up water slides, face painting and games for the kids, volleyball & other stuff for the adults as well as lots of yummy food. Not only that but the people who are having the party...I graduated from high school with the girl & she lives across the street from a couple my husband and I used to be friends with in college...small world! We want to visit the church as well & plan to do that soon. God works in mysterious ways!

In The Blink Of An Eye
I tried a new mascara today. I think I may have found "the one". I'm always on the search for the perfect mascara. Even when I find what I consider to be the best, I still hunt and search for something better. Why is that!? Can't I be satisfied? Anyway, I am testing a mascara and will post more about it later once I give it a real go, but I think it just might be the one I've truly been lusting after. Natural looking lashes that still manage to convey enough dramatic flair. NO CLUMPS! This is the most rare thing about mascaras, in my opinion. I never can seem to find one that doesn't clump and this one didn't. At least not today. So, the testing continues and I'll reveal the product once I can give it a complete and honest review.

Beauty is as beauty does
I've found it's really easy to try to be beautiful. You can apply as much makeup as you want. You can get your hair done and get dolled up. But, what it all really boils down to is what's on the inside and what you project towards others that truly makes everything else shine and really stand out. I'm at a crossroads in my life. I had a baby almost a year ago and have recently lost 30 pounds of baby weight. I'm trying to work out more. I'm doing all these things to work on my outward appearance, but I think I need to work on some spiritual soul searching. I want to find a church where we (my husband, son and I) truly feel at home. I want to make some new friends as a lot of mine have gone their own ways. I want to make positive changes in my life on the inside as well as the outside. I've always loved to write and I think this blog will be a good starting point for me to learn a lot about myself and grow as a person.
I also plan to use this blog as a place to share outward beauty finds (i.e. makeup, perfume, etc.) that may be of interest to others. I love to write reviews and hope that some of what I have to say might be beneficial to someone else.
Well, post 1 wasn't so hard. Here's to many more!
